01Overview

SqueezeFeed ("we", "our", "us") builds a personalized news reading app and website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the SqueezeFeed app or visit squeezefeed.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using SqueezeFeed, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

02Information we collect

We collect the minimum information needed to run and personalize the app.

Account information

• Email address or phone number, used for OTP-based sign-in
• Display name and profile details you choose to add
• Language preference (English / Telugu) and selected interests/topics

Usage information

• Articles you read, save, like, or skip — used to personalize your feed
• Reading streaks and badges earned within the app
• Feedback or bug reports you submit through the app

Device information

• Device type, operating system version, and app version
• Crash logs and basic performance data, to help us fix bugs

03How we use your information

• To create and secure your account, and sign you in via OTP
• To personalize your feed based on your interests and reading behavior
• To show you badges, streaks, and other gamified elements you've earned
• To send you notifications about stories that match your interests (you can turn these off anytime in Settings)
• To understand aggregate app usage (e.g. how many people read a given topic) so we can improve ranking and content quality
• To respond to feedback, bug reports, or support requests you send us

04Cookies & local storage

The SqueezeFeed website (squeezefeed.com) uses a small number of essential cookies and local storage entries to keep the site working correctly — for example, remembering your session so you don't need to sign in repeatedly, and remembering basic preferences like language.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies. If this changes in the future, we'll update this section and, where required, ask for your consent first.

You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings. Doing so may sign you out or reset saved preferences.

05Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal data — ever. Your information is shared only in these limited situations:

• Service providers: infrastructure and hosting providers (such as our cloud server provider) that help us run the app, bound by confidentiality obligations
• Legal requirements: if required to comply with a valid legal request, protect our rights, or prevent fraud or abuse
• With your consent: any other sharing will only happen if you explicitly agree to it

06Data security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) between the app and our servers, and access controls that limit who can view stored data.

That said, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We work to protect your information but can't guarantee absolute security.

07Data retention

We retain your account and usage data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal information from our active systems within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain it for legal or security purposes (such as fraud prevention).

08Your rights & choices

You have control over your data at any time:

• Access & update: view and edit your profile and preferences directly in the app
• Delete your account: request account deletion by contacting us — we'll remove your personal data as described above
• Notifications: turn push notifications on or off in your device or app settings
• Language & interests: change these anytime under Settings, which immediately updates how your feed is personalized

09Children's privacy

SqueezeFeed is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it.

10Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as SqueezeFeed evolves. If we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, and where appropriate, notify you within the app.
